Windsor is an affluent suburban town in an unparished area in the royal borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is widely known as the site for Windsor castle, one of the official sites of residences for the royal family.
The town is situated 21 miles (34km) west of Charring Cross. It is immediately south of the River Thames, which forms its boundaries with Eton.
