Nutrition

Diet is a huge factor in basically everyone’s goals. You can put all the effort of a top end athlete in the gym but if you have a poor diet you will be limited. This is the reason why we will guide you in the right direction to help if you are not aware of what is best for your body.

All our clients have a FREE consultation with our nutrituonist Nicki Hough. Whoever you are Personal training with you will have your fitness assessment with them and be booked in for your nutirional assessment for another day with Nicki. Your trainer will give you a functional medicine nutirional questionnaire. Please make sure you fill this out before your appointment with Nicki. The questionnaire contains a food diary sheet to use, minimum we would need are what can be considered as two average normally “good” days and one not so normal “bad” day. For most people it is ‘week’ and ‘weekend’, the ‘weekend’ is the majority of most people’s bad days. This food diary will give you a focus, also it is vital that you keep it with you to fill out as much detail as possible. We will then review it at a later date and try to pin point any improvements needed.

If you are not Personal training and having soleley Nutirional advice then a Functional Medicine Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire is completed and returned before the consultation. (One can be posted or emailed to you. Alternatively you can download one below).

Consultations are face to face, with an initial consultation lasting 60-90 minutes , which includes the BioMeridian Advanced Nutritional and Health Screening if you choose.  A follow up appointment lasts 45- 60 minutes, again including an optional re-screen with the BioMeridian Advanced Nutritional & Health Screening. Initial consultations involve discussing current health goals, concerns and symptoms, medical history, medication history, past and present diet and lifestyle, and any other health concerns that you may have.   If appropriate, height, weight, body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, metabolic rate and metabolic age can be recorded to monitor progress. A dietary and lifestyle health improvement programme is then recommended. Supplements may be included as part of the recommendation if you are happy to take them.

Additional laboratory tests  can also be used where appropriate, if agreed by the client. Laboratory tests can consider numerous factors including genetics, metabolic typing, hormones, fertility, digestive function, immune system, stress response, cardiovascular risk, toxic metals and nutrient status.

Alternatively, should you wish to simply have your diet assessed  we can accomodate this. This would involve having a 45 minute consultation.

I chose Aaron to be my personal trainer because he had always been very helpful and approachable during the S W E A T sessions that the gym used to run at lunchtimes, he seemed very knowledgeable and genuinely keen to get the best out of you. Since asking him to help me I have never looked back! I am fitter than I have been since...
